to start: '94 merc 4.3lx alpha 2nd gen

when running in higher revs (2500+)and i hit the trim switch it makes the motor hesitate or bog down for a second or two? i have went thru every elec connector i could find and checked/cleaned the connections. the part that is frustrating is on any given trip it can get worse or go away all together! makes it hard to determine if i have fixed the problem or not. is their anything i'm missing or any suggestions?

thanks, dave

If you really have found all the possible connections and gotten them to be as clean as new, then there exists two other possible scenarios. The trim motor draws too much current (binding of bearings, damaged motor, something causing increased load on the hydrolics etc) or the electrical system not functioning properly (bad voltage regulator, bad alternator, bad battery etc.) Personally, I would spend a bit more time finding all the high current connections, especially the ones to the tilt control, tilt fuses (which I have in my Cobra) and the battery to engine ground)
