Hii all

Inhave a 1998 Wellcraft Excel 21 SL....which has a charcoal colored engine in it...at least painted that color
The cover says its a 5.0GL
So it could be a 5.0GLPWTR or
5.0GLPBYC
Or it could be a non original motor

It has power steering
It has center screw on valve covers
It has an aluminum manifold 3956270...8 bolts
It had regular rocker arms...not roller

there is no riveted tag on engine...nor does it look like one was there...no rivets

On the machined Pad near starboard head...where you would decode an automobile small block Chevy
The following code is stamped in....V0110KXP....if I follow my car restoration decide that's a flint motor assembled Jan 10
But I have no idea what XRP is

ay help wold be appreciated. When I go for parts I have no idea what I am askin for

Thanks
Bob

Re: engine ID from machines plate

If I could tell you I wouldn't have posted my question. As I stated...there is NO riveted tag on the engine where one should be....so Zim looking for other ways to identify what I have...I could have one of the two engine I mentioned...or I could have a boat where someone replaced the long block...or short block

In addition to the info I provided...it does NOT have roller rockers....

Inam trying to find out it I can find out what the short block is by the numbers stamped in the machine pad

Thanks
Bob

You have to tell us what you have, we can't tell you unless you have the Full model number or serial number off the engine. Should be a tag where the block mounted oil filter would be.
