I have just launched my boat for the season. It's a 17ft planing fishing boat with a 40hp 2-cyl Yamaha which is non power trim. Everything about my boat and engine is identical to last season. Now when I run at speed I am get vertical plumes of spray either side of the engine rising about 2 feet. My hull is clean. I thought that maybe my prop was damaged but I inspected it and it seems fine. Could a very small dent on the edge of the prop blade cause this effect?

Many thanks

Andy

Andy usually it is because the motor is trimmed in to far. try putting the pin in the next hole up and keep testing until it doesn't spray

red10

Thanks for that.

I have ran the motor in the lowest hole for years without spray. I am puzzled as to why it should now be different. I will give it a try.

Cheers

Andy
