i have a 2 prong kill switch from a bayliner that i am trying to install into our 1985 omc stringer 400. any ideas on how to hook this up?
its a switch from a 1980s bayliner capri inboard 2 pole. going in to 1985 sunray. do i hook one from the neutral wire then to the yellow /red? or yellow/red then ground the other? i installed this dash and it came with the kill switch witch is 2 prong. will post picif it is a kill switch from an outboard
step 1 throw it away it wont work
step 2 - spend $10 on a new kill switch
step 3 install on the dash
step 4 wire in the purple wire between the ignition switch and the rest of the boat
if its a kill switch from an I/O
step 1 install on the dash
step 2 wire in the purple wire between the ignition switch and the rest of the boat
what part of you wire it in the purple wire did you not understand from post #3?its a switch from a 1980s bayliner capri inboard 2 pole. going in to 1985 sunray. do i hook one from the neutral wire then to the yellow /red? or yellow/red then ground the other? i installed this dash and it came with the kill switch witch is 2 prong. will post pic
back of kill switch
well for one thing, i dont have a ignition that has purple, 3 spades. is all i have on it. i have bat, start and acc. no purples at all. the engine is a omc stringer 400. second. i like the look of the bayliner guages and dash. they work just as well as any others out there. why knock someones ideas ?what part of you wire it in the purple wire did you not understand from post #3?
red is battery power
yellow/red is start
purple is igniti0n
you take the purple wire , you cut it, you put the switch between the two cut ends of the purple wire.
why would you install a bayliner dash in a boat? some of the worst gauges on the planet
