Engine make

Hi All.

I just purchased a 2002 chaparral with the volve out drive but the engine itself is:

Does anyone know whether these are good engines?

it's 99% General Motors engine.

so I assume they are not as good as the Volvo's or are they comparable?

The year of the engine is 2008 ... just broken in and the boat is beautiful

99% of inboard outboard engines are General Motors engines, with mercruiser or Volvo Penta outdrives. they are no longer volvo engines. i have a 1999 5.7 GM engine with a VolvoPenta outdrive, never had any real problems. your outdrive is a Volvo Penta, with a GM power plant.
