I have a Bayliner with a Force 50Hp. Outboard, I guess force is no longer in business so who bought them out? I need engine electrical parts (circuit breaker) and I am unable to find one. This thin is a 1985 I would think someone must still have parts for it!
Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Engine Maker?

Force is now owned by Merc but I don't think they use the brand anymore. The line is from Chrysler, but in the '80s was owned by some other company. I would start my search at:
http://www.iboats.com/cgi-bin/motorparts/quote.cgi

I have a Force 50 I just bought as well. Let me know if you find any good sources.

Force was bought from Chrysler in 1993 by Mercury. Merc continued the line until 99 but shut it down due to newer EPA regulations and the fact that Force would have to be retooled. You can purchase OEM parts at http://www.mercurymarine.com and go to parts express. All you need is your serial #.

Re: Engine Maker?

Here's another clue. A 1985 Force is basically (heck, completely) a Chrysler engine (I think it's the first year Chrysler became Force). In fact, I have a 1985 Chrysler factory manual that is perfect for my 1985 Force.

Practically any breaker from a Chrysler 35-55 hp will do the trick. Do you have a boat shop or boneyard nearby? They should be able to scrounge one up for you...
