Hi everybody,

I am currently in the process of restoring a 1985 Sea Ray Seville with a Mercruiser 3.0 140. The stringers, transom, and engine mounts have been replaced and glassed in. I have already reinstalled the engine back into the boat and now I am in the process of mounting the front mount and aligning the engine. I need to bring the front of the engine down a bit, so I am trying to loosen the nut on the mounting bracket. I have tried everything to get this nut to move but it won't budge. Am I missing something or is this just that tight? Here is a picture of what I am talking about--

I've tried really reefing on it while mounted to the engine and out of the boat, I've tried tapping the wrench with a hammer, I've tried a penetrating spray. Any ideas or help anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated! Thank you very much!

By the looks of your pic, it seems to me that you need to loosen the nuts on the bottom side of the mount. Namely, the jam nut first then the other one.
If you tried to turn the adjusting nut with those tightened up, well, there's your problem right there! ;)
This is all assumption on my part, please don't get upset if I'm seeing it wrong.
You should be able to turn that adjusting nut fairly easy with a crescent wrench if the bottom two are loosened up. The actual size is 1-5/16" if you have a wrench that big.
