We are looking at getting a trolling motor for our 20' Starcraft Aluminum. We have a Merc 140 - which doesn't troll slow enough. We also have a 9.9 as a backup and troller. The issue is we'd like to troll quietly. No room for a bow mount. And the water in Lake Erie is COLD - so a drift sock can be a chilly option when the fish are really biting and we need to turn around and pull it up. I am not a fan of getting out on the lake just to hear an engine all night either.
Found this on the iboats trolling motor link (saw a single prop version yesterday), it looks intriguing. We won't need another mount on the boat, if we mount on the merc, we could steer from the steering wheel... or mount it to the 9.9 and add an extension handle for steering.
any comments either way?
