Engine Mount problems?????

Hi all,<br /><br />The marina was installing my lower unit this afternoon and was unable to align the engine properly because of the rot on the stringers. They said I need to replave the stringer mounts and the transom. Heres where I can see either them wanting more money or perhaps some of the work needs to be done. This boat has run fine and the engine with no problems until fixing the lower unit this year? MY main concern is how far forward should the new stringers go to keep the strength? Anybody do this recently?

I havent done exactly this, but I think you need to go crawl around in your boat and see for yourself how much rot there is. Get rid of it!<br />You may need to poke around with something.
