I have a 1995 Force 120 hp outboard and want what was called an optional trim switch. Lower cowl mounted switch to operate the trim motor. I have seen these for $76 but want one that is'nt gold plated. Anybody parting out an old Force that has one of these switches at a reasonable price?

ANY trim switch will work. Currently, I am using one from an OMC 175. You can probably buy a waterproof MOM switch from Radio Shack or other electronics store for a lot less than 75 bucks.

You can search for MOM-OFF-MOM switch. Here is an example.

Full Size Rocker Switches - 1/4'' Tabs - MOM-OFF-MOM SPDT - WiringProducts

Like Frank said...a lot cheaper than ones marketed specifically for Tilt/Trim and they're basically the same thing.

Most difficult part is cutting a hole if you chose a rocker switch. Rocker switches which are low profile and less likely to catch on anything, require a rectangular hole. A toggle switch requires a round hole which is easy to drill, but they stick out and are easily snagged.

Buy one of these.

You can mount it to the transom, or the motor, or secure it to the wiring harness for the motor with a zip tie.

Waterproof, 3 wire, labeled for up/down, simple.

Thing is on my force there's a cutout with a plug in it. I would like it on the lower cowl where it's supposed to be.
