I have a 1991 regal with a 3.0 mercruiser engine. While winterizing it today I noticed to large nuts lying in the front of the engine in a small space. Upon further inspection I saw this long threaded bolt which is were they apparently came from. I could barely reach in the crevice and remount them. Is there a special tool available to tighten them properly? And since they came off, would it be a good idea to get the alignment checked?

Re: Engine Mount

Does this bolt hold the engine mount to the deck?

Point out which bolt it is...

If it is one of the nuts on the long threaded bolt that holds the front of the engine it would probably be a good idea to check alignment. Of course you do that every spring anyway, right

Yes 18 and 22 were both lying in that little pocket. Is there a special tool to put those nuts back in place? And yes I will get an alignment check just like every year.

Those lock everything down. I would still check alignment. Pick up the tool for less than $20 on E-Bay, get a seal kit for the drive. $15 at your local Mercruiser dealer. Get a buddy to help and yank the drive. Will not take an hour to do, but sure beats pulling the engine for a coupler that wears out before its time.
