Hello.
I have read the info on the engine mounted trolling motors.. Now I have a concern..
I am building a bracket to mount a 55lb head just to move me in and out of Dock and then some.. My concern is that If I follow minn Kota's design, then the electric motor will be out of the water most of the time and not just on plane.. I am cutting up some stainless to mount the motor close to center of the exhaust extention and low enough to be in the water.. Hopefully, the water flow when running the 100 hourse will move the plastic prop sideways.. and not bust with the pressure..
My bracket would be about 2 inches high sitting off the cav. plate and the electric drive could be made to sit level or up a bit..
To make the motor fully adjustable like a kicker bracket could be a nightmare..
Thoughts on this would be appreciated.. Oh yes, I have no place to mount a kicker bracket and my steering on the engine (outboard) is hydrolic but not dependant on the engine running.. my electric is dual voltage 12/24 and wiring is not an issue.
looking forward to your feedback
