i have a 1977 sea ray with a mercruiser 233 pre alpa outdrive. i just put the motor back in last week. i got it running today and it had a noise coming from the coupler that it didnt have laster year. it is a new coupler when i was checking around at the back of the motor i looked at the rear mounts rhat wasnt never bolted up last year but i made sure it was done right this year ive been fixing someone elses lazyness. what i found at the rear of the mount is i can spin the cloth washers around by hand is this correct? or is it suppose to be tight? i spent 4hrs on this thig to get it aligned but i dont think it is. is there a diagram that shows exactly where the mounts for the front should be hieghtth wise to get it close and then fine tune it with the tool. thanks.

Re: engine mounts

This is newer, but it's the same set up as the 77's.

Re: engine mounts

Did you by any chance put in new rear mounts?

Re: engine mounts

no never touched them cause i never had an issue with them i had to replace the shifter cable and boots over the winter and fix an exhaust leak. in the picture letter g is a spacer is that the one that goes inside the mount? mine has the steel sleeve in the rubber mount the anouthe sleeve on the bolt and a washer. is that correct?
