Engine Oil mounted Reservoir 1997 40 hp

I am missing section 3 of my manual or at least I cannot find it in the computer. When installing the resevoir the oil hose at the bottom goes to a fitting bellow the starter motor, that unit has two barbed fittings on it. One near the top and one near the bottom which one do I connect the oil outlet hose to??????

Correction I am asking which is the in line and which is the out line on the 40 hp Oil injection pump

THANKS THAT TOLD ME WHAT I NEEDED TO KNOW In the bottom out the top thru a check valve and into the fuel stream to the fuel pump
