Engine or Fuel Problems

Hope others on here can give suggestions to my issue.

Yamaha 150 (carb). on a 21ft CC

Start the day..... Boat will start after a couple of cranks and run great a idle speed for the 10 minute ride out. I then run the boat around 25-30 mph for approx 20-30 mins with no issues.

I then stop for about an hour or so for lunch etc.....

When I get back on the water for my return trip is when my problems start. The engine starts up with no problem and runs at slow idle speed with no problems.... However when I head out and bring the boat up to 20 - 25 is starts to "bogg down" as though starving for fuel... no matter how much I throttle up, there is no power and the boat almost stalls.....

Plugs and fuel / water seperator changes in May this year.....

Could it be a carb problem or a water in the fuel problem ????

Should I change the fuel / water seperator and see if that helps

Thanks

Re: Engine or Fuel Problems

When mine did what yours seems to be doing I had a bad fuel pump. Also needed a carb rebuild. It would run perfectly on the hose but once in the water it would try to break over then bogg down. Never died though. Just for good measure make sure nothing is clogged up between the tank and your carbs and go from there. May as well clean the carbs too while you're at it. I'm still betting it's your fuel pumps because they do wear out.
