I have a 1985 XP150 Evinrude. I installed the new sharader valve primer port at the beginning of the spring boating season and the engine started good with the new primer and everything worked as it should during the entire summer.

This winter, I finally got around to fogging my engine for the first time using newly added shrader valve primer port to fog the engine. I followed the directions on the can but, the engine tried to over-rev actually, went over 2000 rpm's until I forced the throttle back to slow it down. Liken to-have skeekrd dis ole boy to def.
Is this normal for the rpms to shoot up like this when using the primer port to fog or decarb?

Sure can. You're introducing another source of air to the engine. Are all of you tube connections tight?

All of the connections were tight. However, the spray valve did leak some as I pressed it to inject the fogging oil.

Thank you for sharing your experience with me.

Best regards and Merry Christmas.
