ENGINE PROBLEMS

I HAVE A 25 HORSE PULL START MOTOR. MY FIRST PROBLEM IS THE STRING WONT RECOIL BACK IN. HOW DO FIX THIS PROBLEM????<br />MY SECOND PROBLEM IS THE ONLY WAY THE MOTOR WILL RUN IS IF ITS AT A HALF CHOKE. WHEN I TURN THE CHOKE OFF THE MOTOR DIES. HOW CAN I FIX THESE PROBLEMS???? :confused: :confused: :confused:

For the sticking pull start try to lubricate it with a light oil (wd-40) spray it in the hole where the rope comes out and then anywhere else you see where you can get lubrication to the spring and the shaft the rope spool turns on. As far as having to leave it on 1/2 choke to run it could be anywhere from a dirty carb, idle mixture on carb out of adjustment, or possibly a fuel supply problem ( fuel pump out, hole in the fuel system hoses etc..) hope this helps out some......Heath :confused:

Problem no.1: you probably need to replace the recoil spring.<br />Problem no.2: you probably need to remove, disassemble and clean the carb.<br />At least these would be my guess based on the info. provided.
