engine re-mounting

getting ready to put engine back in boat after re-build, if engine goes back on origional mounting bolts, do i have to worry about re-alighning the engine, if i do what is the best way to do it.<br />thanks

If you have a mercruiser, you need an engine allignment tool to stick through the gimble bearing and line up. If you didn't mess with the front motor mount adjustment, you should be pretty close. After installing the engine, side the allignment tool through the gimble bearing and into the engine coupler. You'll feel it. If it slides in easy with two fingers on the tool, you're set.....if it doesn't, you need to adjust the front motor mount up or down.
