engine rebild?

hi everyone I may be inheriting I imperial from my landlords they think it has a cracked block I have not torn in to it to find out for sure but I am trying to come up with some prices for repair I will be wonting to replace the block if it is cracked reparable or not. I would like to reuse the rotating assembly just put new Barings and seals act as well as rework the heads new guides seals ect any good places to get parts and do they make a full rebuild kit that would have just about everything I would need except the block of cores. The serial number is 6726248 it is a 228 305 ci with power steering and the thunder bolt lV ignition. I wood like to take cost affectedness in to account as well.

Until the engine is disassembled, you can't determine what direction to go in.
Try this, find the local tech college. Enroll in the night basic engine class.
Most classes have the equipment to perform $1000 to $2000 in machining on the engine.
Replace the 305 with a 350.

Free boats are never free from dumping big bucks into them. Hows the hull? IS the floor solid? Is transom rotten? More to a free boat than just the engine.

The hull is in great shape the color is a little faded but still in good working order, the floor is good a little wood work with the trim here and there around the boat. But the situation is it has been sitting in the storage yard/marine dealer and parts place for three years. my land lords thought it had been taken for rent and sold but when I went in to buy some parts for my chaparral I talked with them and they just won?t it out of there, they don?t wont any past due rent because of who my landlords are small town type of situation. I looked at it today and it is in great shape except for tires on the trailer and engine work and I?m sure there will be a few miner things with wiring from sitting for so long it really is a great situation! any help wood be great thanks
