Engine Reboring Service

I am in the Atlanta, GA area and I cannot beleive it, but I am coming up empty on machine shops that can handle outboard engine service. The one repair shop that listed the service told me when I visited today that "everyone in this area sends them out". He is talking $50 per cylinder. Two weeks turn-around.

I have sent emails to one or two companies that I googled up, but got no response.

Can someone put me in touch with a reliable shop that I can ship my '76 Johnson 115etl block to for reboring?

Money is a consideration, but not the only one. Quality and reliability mean a lot.

Thanks,
Newt

Ron's Marine & Equipment, Inc. in Portsmouth Virginia has a good reputation.

Skeen Precision Engine Co
Address: 1902 Branner Ave, Jefferson City, TN 37760
Phone: (865) 475-4511

I just called the other day for pricing on mine. $48/cylinder for boring. Without me mentioning it, he asked if I wanted to champfer the ports or have him do it - $12/cylinder.

As always, thanks for the info. I'll naturally be drawn to the TN location since it is much closer to home. But will followup with both as needed.

Thanks again.

Champfering the ports is part of the boring & honing job. It should not be charged for seperately. I'd strongly suggest Mar-Fab in Sparta Tenn. If you need their 800 # email me at dhadley50@aol.com.
