The boat is a 1989 Donzi with a OMC Cobre. I rebuilt the engine. It's a 5.7 and i put it back in. I did not remove the bell housing. Do i need to align the engine with the stern drive?

ABSOLUTELY!

DO NOT try to run it without check/adjusting the alignment!!(unless you want to pull it later to replace the coupler!!)

^^^ what he said... Pretty easy to stick a alignment tool in a hole so why not do it? Don't have a tool?. Might as well get one. They are pretty cheap($35 e bay).. It's a must have for playing in the I/O world..
