Id use the Summit kit. its the same stuff and your not going to pay the mark-up. If your replacing the cam , go with a marine version, as they have a wider torque curve. But the rest of the engine (pretty much) is just as the Big 3 made it.

Was surfing summits website and came across this engine rebuild kit. Was wondering if I could use this in my boat? I am really just going to use the rimgs and gaskets. Do you think it will be ok or will I have to use a marine kit?

if you have a fresh water cooling system then go for it, if you have a raw water system you need stainless core headgaskets and brass freeze plugs so they wont rot out and damage your engine

Its a freshwater boat with a raw water pump. The boat sees water every weekend either sat or sunday only every once in a while does it see both days. Other than that it is in the garage at home. I noticed the old head gasket was stainless thats why I asked before I orderd the parts
