Hello all,

1989 Johnson 110hp - 110TLCE

After a few years of dry dock time, I am finally getting this boat ready for the
water. I've done some of the routine items (replace plugs, wires, cleaned fuel tank and added fresh premix 50:1. Also disabled VRO, only using the fuel pump side) Afterwards, I attempted a start, it ran ok for 5-10 secondes, the only way to keep it running was to press down a few times or pump (sort to speak) the electric choke or fuel primer button (built in the ignition key ) If I believe that's what it is. I cannot locate my owners manual to verify.

I haven't cleaned out or rebuilt the carb on this yet, but is this a dirty or clogged carb issue, or a primer solenoid (if that's what it is on the ignition key)?

Thanks for your help...

Yes, the carbs are clogged and need to be cleaned. By using the primer, you are bypassing the carb passages...New kits and a good cleaning will make it much better..

besure to change the float needle and set (in the kit) remove the jets with tool 317002 or make one.
