Just want to know how hard is it to lift the engine off the boat and what is entailed.
I have an 18ft basstracker w 150hp Johnson.

Ok thanks.....what about putting it back on.
The reason I ask is I need to clean the steering tubes out...or replace them.
I did a semi celaning once but couldn't get them all the way out without taking the motor off. Now, however it is a necessity, as the steering is "froze up".
good reason. steer tube in first, set the motor on the transon, bolt it up, basically the reverse of what you did when you took it off. take pictures before, in case you get mixed up.
