I have a 1999 Volvo SX 4.3L stern drive. I have a 14.75 x 21 pitch 3 blade prop. My Rpms are too high. Rated for 4600 but running at 5000 WOT. SPEED IS GREAT. Dont pull skiers but I need to bring my RPMs down. Should I just control with throttle or do i need to change the prop. Its pretty new SS 3 blade. Help please. Don't know what OEM is.

The boat tachometer in most cases is not accurate. It may be real close in a given range but not overall

So you may not be turning the rpm's your seeing

If tach is correct you can have prop sent to a prop shop and have double cup added which will help lower RPM and improve mid to top end results..
