Hi:

Looking at a used 24' pontoon with a 115 hp 4 stroke outboard. What kind of job will this do for skiing for adults, generally the boat wouldnt be overloaded, probably 4-6 people at a time onboard. but skier could range from 150 lbs to 215 lbs.

The above is a 2 tube, is it a huge benefit to paying up for some of the newer performance tritoons with lifting strakes? They seem harder to find used, as i'm sure some of the technology is more recent.

4 people on a 24 footer with a 115hp motor, you might hit 25mph and a lot slower when pulling a skier. For me 25mph to slow to ski. I prefer 30 to 35.

You can pull a skier but not at an acceptable speed for an experienced skier.

And yes, if you want a pontoon and speed, lifting strakes is a definite plus along with the tritoon.

We have a 22' with a 115 4 stroke. My 30 year old nephew was double and slalom skiing behind it a few weeks ago. We had 4 adults and 4 labs on board at the time. He said we didn't have enough speed for him to barefoot though.
