I've searched and searched all the forms and can not find any help. I have a VIP 1985 4.3 mercruiser mcm205 and after replacing the water pump impelller and gaskets on the outdrive i found out that if i gas it real quick in forward it dies. I can slowly give it gas to get it going but no matter what it dies at about 2200 rpms. BUT in reverse i have no problems?? I can give it gas real quick without die and also get it well pass the rpms where it dies in forward It did not do this before i removed the lower and upper unit. I also in the process replaced the water inlet hose, exhaust and u-joint bellow.
