Engine Start Alarm While Running?

I have a 2004 Glastrom MX185 with a Volvo Penta 4.3GL.

When I turn the key to the ON position I hear the "normal" (I think) start up alarm. But the alarm goes off immediately once started.

Just the other day, the alarm turned on while running. Temp gauge was high but in normal range, oil pressure gauge was fine and boat ran great.

The alarm wasn't really a SOLID alarm sound. It was sort of scratchy - sort of coming and going. It even turned off for maybe 20 seconds and then came back on. But again, it would be on and completely solid on noise but then get sort of "scratchy" on and off feel to it.

I've seen advice about replacing the oil pressure SWITCH (???) and the problem is fixed?

Any ideas / advice? Thanks in advance.

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,...... The alarm works by the sensors going to ground, 'n the alarm sounds,.....

It sounds like one of the wires fell off, 'n is bouncing around, occasionally hitting a ground,....

Any ideas where I would find said wires. Your thought makes perfect sense. Would this be in the MOTOR area (back) or more in the DASH area? It sounds like the alarm is coming form the dash or maybe by the Throttle.???

Each model can have different sensors. This is a E model and it has 4 switches that can turn on the alarm
Oil pressure
Water Temp
Port and Starboard Temp

Hey just following up - any idea where I would look to check if the wires are loose? In the engine area? Any specifics?

Oil will either just below and behind the distributor or port side rear of block tee with oil pressure gauge sender.

Water will be on thermostat housing

Exhaust one each will be on elbow

I have a 2000 5.7 with GM blocks. The oil pressure alarm switch is right above the oil filter.
