Engine Stop After Shifting

I install a new carb.
Install New Intake Gasket.


The engine Idle good. but ones i put it on Forward or reverse gear it BUGS down and Die..

The whole reason i replace gasket and install new Carburator is because of this..

Its better now than before but. it still BUGS Down and shut off..

i have not set the timing yet.

the Fuel is kind of old. i put Water Remover 3 weeks ago...

i have remove the gas line that connect to the carburator and see if it pumps alot of gas everytime the engine turns and its spray alot of gas. so thats tills me its pumping gas.

also when i open the butterly without putting the boat on gear. the carb works fine..

will it help if i make a video??

Set the timing then retry it. if you dont have enough that is a problem.
Also make sure the plugs and wires are good and firing on all the holes.

What is the idle RPM?

SET YOUR TIMING BEFORE ASKING FOR HELP.

If the problem persists,note what the engine is idling at when the boat is in the water.
Does it die as soon as you put it into gear? Like it's been turned off, or does it run rougher, and rougher until it dies?

it run rougher and rougher and then it die...i will set the timing tommorow and maybe a video. se you guys will notice.. also i put water bucket on the sterndrive to cool engine and not damage the waterpump

Most water removers are just alcohol. You already probably have some alcohol in the gas. Adding more will only make it worse if it's already starting to separate the water from the gas. Removing the old gas is the only good option you have if you really have water in it.

Pump some gas from your fuel line into a glass jar and let it sit. If there is water in it, it will clearly separate and you will know where you stand on that. If you have a lot of water in there, nothing else will help much. Once that's determined, move on to the steps suggested up the thread.
