I am in the market for a new motor for my 90 Sundance tgat has a 7.4 merc motor in her. I have s line on a 96 generation 5 motor complete from carb to pan ready to go. I guess my question is will this be a quick and easy drop in, will I have to switch anything over from generation 4 to generation 5?

96 should be a gen 6

However get a complete motor from pulleys to flywheel as the gen 5 and 6 motors are completely different from your mark 4 motor.

But as far as wiring it up, everything should work then, as long as it’s from flywheel to pulleys?

you may need a conversion harness.
