Hey Everybody,

Drive system is a 1995 Alpha One, Engine is a 4 year old Mercruiser Remanufacturing 5.7L.

So I picked up this rig last year in the spring. Everything worked well shifted into gear fine I could throttle up to WOT fine, slowly pull back to idle, , everything is great.
This spring I had complete transom kit installed w/shift cable and engine alignment. Everything is great except when I slowly pull back on the throttle to come off plane to idle it's not smooth anymore. I pull back, no response, pull back, no response, pull back, no response, then all of a sudden it decides to throttle back. It would be as if you were cruising at 3K rippems and just pulled back to idle, or a little above that. It's highly irritating especially when you have a few people in the boat.

I believe they adjusted something in the shift linkage back on the engine. Is this a cable (shift or throttle) adjustment that needs to be done or is this a lubrication problem?
In the manual it states to lubricate a few points on the throttle and or shift cable.

Thanks in advance for your help!!

check your throttle cable at the carb. could be you simply need a new throttle return spring. could simply need lubrication

I'm thinking something is loose or not there. Look at the shift plate and see if the cotter pin is there and everything is connected
