I have a 1986 16' sea nymph. Right now it has a 50hp motor, which is shot. I found a really good deal on a 115hp. Would this motor be too large for this 16' aluminum boat?

Yes, much too big.

What convinces you that your 50 is "shot"?

Concure, your boat is probably rated for around 70 horse, 115 is way over.

It would probably put up with it for awhile then you will tear the transom out of it and be looking for a new boat to.

agree with JB, 50's are hard to kill.
