Hey guys, I have a 70 tri hull with a Chrysler 55 on it, I believe I am missing a part that holds the engine up and out of the way when towing. I have seen some guys with an attachment of sorts that connects to the trailer and holds the lower unit in place. Can some one please help me (insert corny game show host voice) "name that part"? Thanks

thanks guys for the quick response. I need to two it soon and it gets a little sketchy with it strapped down. Makes going over bumps very hairy

Re: engine/trailer/unknown part question

The Chrysler part is known as a trailering bar. It is a "U" shaped piece of chrome plated steel rod that plugs into the outermost trim holes on the transom clamps. The engine is set on it and the reverse lock holds the engine to it.

There is some slop anyway and it is best to use a bungee to hold the engine tight.

I don't know if Force ever made them for the 50 but you can search the other sites: Boats dot net.

I have one I never use. Send me a private message if you are interested.
