I will preempt this with I think it is corrosion somewhere, but thought I would ask anyways.
It is a 1992 431A Volvo 290DP. If I let the boat sit up for more than two weeks or so this happens:
Run engine trim down, start boat on muffs, run boat, turn boat off, go to run trim back up and the trim motor keeps trying to bring it up even though I let go of the button, it does not seem to matter weather I let go of the button when the trim is all the way up or I just press it and let it go, for some reason the trim still continues to run. So I am thinking the switch on the dash, nope I disconnected the battery to stop the trim motor from going up, disconnected the switch under the dash (wire bundle) hooked battery back up trim is still trying to go up by itself? So with battery disconnected I took all relays apart back by trim motor, reseated, and hooked trim switch on dash back up and it works like it is suppose to? Usually it fixes itself after doing the run by itself trick for about 3 cycles, something in the trim motor seems to turn it self off once it is all the way up for more than 5 seconds. This week I decided to try and figure it out but now it is not doing it after the relay reconnect? If it matters the boat is garage kept?
So what do you guys think?
