Hi all , i took out the boat last night and i had the motor keep cutting out at low speed.my 1st tank of fuel was almost empty.Just before the tank went dry it was strugling to accelerate due to lack of fuel. The problem still persisted when we began to head back to the boat ramp.At high speed it was ok but when we reached the ramp at low speed/revs it was about to stall.Could it be poor fuel mixture in my second tank that was causing the motor to almost stall or some rubish may have been drawn into the carbie from allowing the first tank to run dry.Not an experienced boater. It is my first summer of fun or headaches.

It's a 1987 2 stroke 50hp Classic.<br />Most fuel tanks have a filter at the pickup end. Unless the remaining fuel was real dirty, it would have been filtered.Although it does sound coincidental that it started playing up when the fuel was low.
