I have a 94 3.0 mercruiser and I have to change the Engine Water Pump. My question is do I have to raise the front of the motor or can it be done with-out undoing the front motor mount? Do you also need a tool to pull the pully?

2nd question is I am having a problem with the motor cutting out not stalling. It runs good for about 30-45minutes the it starts to act up on me. It will run all day at lower RPMs but as soon as it hit 3000+ it started bogging. I have replaced all the filter in the carb and added a water seprator and ingnition coil and new thermostat and cleaned vent hose from tank and cleaned carb. Still doing it. I am thinking it is the fuel pump by reading some other post in here. Or could it be just a timming issue? If anybody could help me out that would be great thanks for the help.

Re: Engine Water Pump

changing the pump only requires removing 4 pully bolts ,removing the pulley, and 4 pump bolts and its off.the crank pulley is not in the question.
Check the "anti-syphon valve" its the first fitting out of the tank.its a spring loaded check ball arrangement. sometimes they can stick a bit closed.it looks just like a barb fitting.made to flow fuel only under fuel pump suction.
