Engine weight, 40hp Evinrude.

I have an Evinrude 40hp BE40ELCR (great engine) which I am considering putting on an old wooden classic boat, what would be the weight differance between say an Evinrude/Johnson 20hp,30hp and my 40hp, in other words would there be much weight saved by going down in H.P. Many thanks for now, JBD

Your 1984 JohnnyRude 40hp weighs a shade over 200lb.

The weights of the various other engines depends on the model and year.
