Ok I have a 115hp 1977 hp Evinrude. The enging will not die when key switch is turned off. Its a been like this since I have had it. Is the problem with the wiring on the key switch or should I look somewhere else?
Yep key switch or discontinuity in the black/yellow kill wire. Or maybe powerpack problem but its normally one of the former.
Check the control unit has a good ground connection too
