I have a late 1960s 35hp merc that has electric start and a pull start. I do not have the controls to turn the engine "on" with a key. In fact the electronic male connector on the outside of the engine is simpley exposed. I need to bypass the switch circuit to make sure the engine is on when I try to pull start the motor. Motor is in need of tlc and want to see if I have spark etc before I really tear into a rebuild.
