Well Just put the outdrive back on a nd went to fire up motor but the starter doesnt want to engage the flywheel and turn the motor over. new stater that was working fine with motor not hooked up to drive. Charged battery
When I mess witht the control handle it will engage for a second every few tries.
kill switch is in correct position. Im thinking neutral safety switch . Any ideas guys thanks for any help. have not gotten the boat wet yet this season :(
Should i take apart the controls?

Most likely your neutral switch or wires/connections. Hooking up the outdrive might just move the cable enough to throw it off.

well I just got her started and ran her for 5 minutes and then turned her off. Now shes acting stubborn again. Not sure what got her going ion the first place.
Any suggestions.. I played touched the neutral safety switch wires meessed witht the controlller fiddeled with it mostly and that was it. anf the un off lanyard switch seems to be intertwined with this issue every time i flick the switch i get a little bit o crankin.

pulled the "new starter ' that had been working . Put the old starter from before my june rebuild really old rusty wench and Low and behold my old girl started right up. Pesky starter ,pulling the starter was not fun at all I really didnt htink i could do it but when faced with the alternative ..not boating, I dug deep and got er done. This one will have to go back to DB.
