epoxy and brittleness

after doing my transom i had some of the dried epoxy scraps , it dried and was exposed to the sun on my front truck seat after about 1 1/2 months it became very brittle ,,,will this be a problem ,,,

well yeah..<br /><br />epoxy's worst enemy is uv rays..<br /><br />must be painted or marine varnish ( 3 coats at least..)
