Turns out I jumped the gun. Those thin walls between the two sets of exhaust ports are not sealing surfaces. I took a look at the gasket, and for both pairs of cylinders, the two adjacent ports are both in one gasketed passage. I've been trying to delete this thread, but no luck so far.
