My OMC's shift very hard. After getting much needed help from this forum, I found that my port side ESA Switch does not "scatter" the ignition when clicked. My question is, where can I get a new EAS, or switch? And, does anyone know who much they cost ?

Thanx

When the switch trips,it cuts out 1/2 of your cylinders,to shift better.Usually hard shifting on a Cobra is because of too high an idle speed.
Gone to the lake with many customers, and only cut the idle down to about 550 to 650 RPM's and solved the problem. If the switch activates at this speed, you probably need a new cable going down to your outdrive.
DHP
DHP

Dave...I would do a little work with a meter first before you buy an ESA, manually tripping the interupt switch should turn on the ESA (Try it while running in neutral) if no then you also have to check the overstroke switch on the shift arm because the 2 work together. The overstroke is a normally closed switch so when you trip the interupt it completes the circuit, if the overstroke switch is open this can never happen so get a meter and do some continuity checking. I guess though in your case because you have twins you can swap the ESA very quickly also.
