I have a 3.5 HP Eska that had a bad carburetor. I found the exact same carburetor from a 7.5 HP Eska. The idol is great but I can not get it to run at full throttle. I suspect the main jet is to large but I can not find the size of the jet for the original carburetor. Does anyone have any idea what size the jet might be?

How do you know its not the fuel pump diaphram? What year is the motor? Is you high speed main jet set properly? 1 turn out from seated to start out than adjust under load on a lake or river. the 3hp up to 7.5hp used 2 carbs. Is it points or Solid state. There are alot of variables.

1971 Fuel pump is new (rebuild kit), it is the exact same tecumseh carb as was on the motor before with exception of the adjustable main jet in the bottom of the float bowl. The main jet was corroded from being left outside. The motor starts and idles great, it will rev but then act like it is flooding and the lean mixture adjustment will not smooth it out.

They only put 2 carbs on the motors and you have one of each. What is your float drop? 5.30mm between base of carb and float. Or use a #4 drill bit. The lean mixture or idle screw gets adjusted second. You adjust the main jet first like I stated 1 turn out from seated and go from there. You can clean the main jet with steel wool if needed. I will look to see if it is still sold. Tecumseh still sells parts online. Ive never had a problem with carbs other than installing a kit. What was wrong with the original carb?
