My friend has a 1974 7.5 hp eska. It came set up for use of a auxilary fuel tank. ( a second line comes off the carb & goes to a coupler ) My question is does the engine have a fuel pump on it or does he need to use a pressurized tank? Thanks

It has fuel rubber pump element that goes in the carbs mounting flange also a flapper valve behind the fuel inlet. be sure to bleed the mail end of the hose connector because all of the crude from the onboard tank ends up in that short line, if it has a onboard tank.

Thanks for the reply; he took it out and run on the aux tank for an hour. What mix ratio and type of oil do you use.

32:1 I think is the mix in 1974, but I personally run them anywhere from 32-40:1 with E/J XD25 TCW3

look for brixnet in the Eska files link in my sig. you can fid out the factory spec's there

Re: 1971 Ted Williams Eska 7.5

I just picked up my dad's old Ted Williams Sears/Eska motor which hasn't been run in maybe 15 years. Stored in shed, but even so a mouse or rat had built a nest inside the cowling...lol. When dad was using the motor it seems that he had to replace the rubber pump element and some times the flapper valve which you show picture of below. The pump element seemed to always fail us when we were miles down the Brazos River from the boat ramp. Last time we had it repaired, the small moter repairman said the these were getting very hard to get. Anyways, I want to get this motor running again and will probably need to replace these. WHERE CAN I FIND THESE PARTS NOW? Also seems to be oil leaking around the lower unit around the prop area. These seals probably dried out so where can I get these. The trottle seems to be stuck, I didn't force too hard. Is this just a lubrication problem or maybe something else?

Dennis, you are hi-jacking this thread, a practice regarded as poor form. Ya really ought to start your own thread, and put your model number in it. Put your model # in here, and search to get part numbers;

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action

Take your part numbers here;

http://www.boatsportandtackle.com/servlet/the-ESKA--dsh--Sears--fdsh--Ted-Wms/Categories

OR, call Certified Parts Corporation with your model number, and your list of part numbers.

Sorry, I'm kind of new to this and was excited to find interest in Eska outboards and even see pictures of the parts I think I may require. I'll try to adhere to proper protocol next time. Once again -- I appologize. And also, thanks for the advice you've given.

These guys are GREAT! good prices, super fast shipping.
I've got a half torn apart Eska/Sears Ted Williams in my garage at the moment after snapping the pin behind the prop on some rocks fishing this weekend. Hoping to get it back together, was a great running motor and parts were really reasonable.

Good luck.
