Re: eska outboard wont start

Welcome to Iboats,
I would first check my points and condenser and while I had the flywheel off I would check the end play on the crankshaft to see if maybe the seals are giving up (should have some play but not to much) crank wobble will eventually first eat up the lower seal and leave the charging coil and flywheel with obvious wear. If the top seal is shot you will have alot of oily build up on the stator plate but in my experiance its fairly uncommon for the top seal to go bad (less heat up there). Also your carb could be gumming up and need a complete cleaning and rebuild.
