Ethanol & foam floats?

Hi all
Has anyone heard about the ethanol in gas causing a carbs foam float to break down & become saturated.

I have heard a lot also,but I'm waiting to see something. Anything.

And I have not seen any float deteriation.

A co worker told me about this yesterday, and i currently have flooding at idle condition that re appeared. had the same problem last year,rebuild kit plus float, 40 hrs trouble free now it is back. have not yet had the time to troubleshoot but was wondering if this idea held water, or should i say fuel o
