Re: ethanol help

Mercury states this about their Dri-Fuel: "Do not add Mercury Dri-Fuel to ethanol blended fuel."

Sta-bil Marine formula is what I use...24/7! Like all ethanol fuel additives, it has to be used BEFORE you have the gremlins from ethanol show up. None of these formulas are intended to be used as a cure...they are used as a preventative.

SeaFoam is a great product...but they have never claimed to be the answer to ethanol. The other products you mentioned (Startron, Sta-bil) are especially formulated for ethanol gas...pick your poison!

Happy boating!

Let us know what your engine setup is...mine is a 3.0 I/O.

If you have been using E-10 (and almost all of us here in Florida have been), you should take a hard look at what is resting at the bottom of your gas tank. Ethanol will phase seperate rapidly, and scrub any old crud from your tank walls and send it to your engine. Almost every 'expert' says to add a water/fuel filter between your tank, and your engine. Cheap insurance for the carb(s)!

Live in Tallahassee...and boat in the Gulf, and numerous rivers. Here is the road going to the boat ramp at the St. Mark's lighthouse:
