long story short, kinda, i DONT have a over heat warning on my boat for my engin, the other night we went for a ride and my outboard overheated. We were just going about 10 miles an hour and i went to give it more gas and i got no power out of the engin, so thats when i took a look back to see if i could see anything and sure enough it was smoking/steaming out of the hood. pulled the hood/cover off and steam was all over, this thing was HOT my spit would sizzil off it. like i said we were barly above idel but i DO NOT KNOW HOW LONG IT WAS OVERHEATING WE WERE CURISEING FOR ABOUT AN HOUR. now, the next day, i try to turn it over and it sturggles to turn over. sounds like the battery is low but its at a full charge and the engin just barly turns over. Im here to ask anyone that has had a small or large problem with overheating if they know what could be going on and or what to do now. its a 1980 235 evanrude outboard. PLEASE HELKP!
