Where can I buy an 18 pitch SS prop for a 115 Merc on the internet. All I can find are odd pitches.

Sounds like your trying to fine tune the RPMs. Have you considered a cupped prop? I've often wondered why there seems to be ODD numbers only. What about it Rick? ;)

Re: Even pitch propeller

I'm sure it has to do with manufacturing costs. They know that most people will run with the odd # pitch props or have them re-pitched. It would be cost prohibitive to make every size in even and odd pitch, although for some smaller motors, which will only take one or two variations of a prop, they do make the elusive even pitch prop. Best I can come up with right now! Might have to do a little investigating into that one!! Good Point Mumblerone!

The Mercury Vengeance prop comes in an 18 pitch which I have found at ITG Marine-Outboard but I have a problem with the owner of this website and will not give him any more of my business. I have not been able to find a Vengeance prop anywhere else on the web. I have a 2002 Merc 115 4-stroke.

Hillfisher,

Im curious as to why you are searching for a specific pitch such as "18"? Did someone tell you that you need an 18 pitch prop? If you merely buy ANY 18 pitch prop, that doesnt mean that ANY 18 pitch prop will do the same thing as another. If you're trying to dial in a specific RPM, purchase a prop closely suited for your application/needs, and then have it repitched by a good prop shop accordingly. Purchasing just ANY 18 pitch prop is simply trial and error, and may end up not even coming close to what you desire.

Re: Even pitch propeller

I've tried a Google search and still can't find one. I'm looking for an 18 because I'm currently running a 20 and it doesn't have enough bite with passengers in the boat. I also need to pick up
4-500 rpm to run in my motor's optimum rpm range. I don't want to drop one inch cause I don't think that's going to do it. I want to go down 2 inches. Also I contacted the boat manufacurer and they recommend an 18.

Re: Even pitch propeller

Just grab up a 17 0r 19" pitch and have a Prop shop work it to your specs. Best way to go! If it were me, I'd get the 17 Pitch and have some extra cupping added to it for more bite in the water. That would put you in the 18 pitch range with the extra cupping and prevent prop blowout.
